Mr. Monkman's clients have included major Fortune 500 Company Corporations, highly compensated business executives, professionals in the medical, legal, accounting, and pharmaceutical industries, and numerous sports and entertainment personalities. Mr. Monkman's expertise and emphasis has been in structuring business entities, dissolution and debtor-creditor issues, taxation planning and litigation, dispute resolution, real estate, family, civil, and criminal law with constant emphasis on "problem solving" and "future planning".

Mr. Monkman was the founding partner of the law firm of COOPER, MONKMAN, SANBORN & BROWN which grew from two (2) initial partners to twenty-nine (29) attorneys and over fifty (50) support staff. The law firm's background in litigation (which includes general and appellate civil litigation, insurance defense litigation, and corporate, real estate, and commercial litigation) allows it to understand what are reasonable standards for the practice of law and to deal persuasively with other lawyers in negotiating and resolving fee dispute problems.
